DOK-ING celebrated the final delivery of eight MV-10 Mine Clearance Systems to the Australian Government. The Australian Ambassador to Croatia, H.E. Ms. Beverly Mercer, led an Australian delegation that included Mr. Stephen Munford, Senior Advisor, Defence Materiel Organisation based in London. Mr Antun Babic, Consul-General at the Consulate General of the Republic of Croatia in Melbourne also attended the ceremony.
Ambassador Beverly Mercer’s remarks were well received at the event. “As Australia's Ambassador to Croatia, it gives me great pleasure to see DOK-ING, an innovative and forward thinking Croatian company, being recognised and identified as a preferred supplier for the Australian Government for demining machines and I hope that this contract is the beginning of further cooperation between our two countries.”
Australia is firmly committed to global efforts to reduce the threat and impact of landmines, which contaminate more than 70 countries around the world and kill and injure more than 5,000 people per year. In November 2009, Australia launched a new $100 million Mine Action Strategy for the Australian aid programs over the next five years.
