Nicaragua update - Training course

On 30 October 2009 DOK-ING has officially handed-over 2 MV-4 R/C mine clearance machines with spares and associated equipment to the Head Engineer Corps of the Army of Nicaragua Colonel Spiro J. Bassi Aguilar. All equipment has been supplied to the General Command of the Army of Nicaragua (GCAN) based on the Russian Federation assistance to that country, within the framework of the Russian-targeting contribution to the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) for the implementation of humanitarian demining operation in Nicaragua.

During 29 October - 9 November 2009 DOK-ING 3-men instructor team has successfully completed the required MV-4 course, training 16 selected candidates from the Engineer Corps of the Army of Nicaragua at the National Sergeants School named after "Sgt Andres Castro".

On 10 Nov 2009 the MV-4 training course students together with DOK-ING instructors have taken part in the official ceremony of hand-over of all equipment donated by the Government of the Russian Federation to the Army of Nicaragua. The ceremony was led from by the Minister of Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters S. K. Shojgu from the Russian side, and from the Nicaraguan side - by the General Inspector of the Nicaraguan Army Maj Gen Ramon Humberto Calderon Vindell.
