DOK-ING’s Nataša Kralj at WiSTEM “square” table

The Australian Embassy in Zagreb initiated the WiSTEM (Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) project in partnership with the Croatian Employers’ Association. The “square” table’ provided an opportunity to introduce women in STEM who are working in Croatia and most of whom are Australian alumni. The President of the Republic of Croatia H E Mrs Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic addressed the guests and opened WiSTEM. Representatives from government, business, education and international organizations heard from the STEM panelists about their career paths and choices and the ups and downs of studying and working in the STEM sector.

DOK-ING was proudly represented by Nataša Kralj, junior electronics developer at the R&D department. As one among eight women panelists,  Natasa has shared her experiences in education and career development. In addition, this was an opportunity for social networking since a number of women experts came from the Ivo Pilar Institute and the Zagreb branch of  Professional Women's Network (PWN), a network that promotes equality in the business world.

The square table is not the end of the WiSTEM story. The Australian Embassy looks forward to working with the participants to make sure more women and girls are encouraged to consider STEM as a career choice.
