DOK-ING Hosted the Panel „Generational Synergy: Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Era of Technological Progress” in Collaboration with CROMA

DOK-ING WELCOMED CROATIAN ENTREPRENEURS AT ITS HEADQUARTERS TO EXPLORE THE IMPORTANCE OF ADAPTING TO TECHNOLOGIES THAT ARE SHAPING THE FUTURE OF THE BUSINESS WORLD

Zagreb, Croatia, 14.11.2024. – DOK-ING hosted the exclusive panel discussion on topic of „Generational Synergy: Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Era of Technological Progress“ on November 14, 2024. The panel, organized in collaboration with CROMA – Croatian Association of Managers and Entrepreneurs – brought together Croatian entrepreneurs from the business and technology sectors at DOK-ING’s headquarters in Zagreb, where they had the unique opportunity to share their knowledge, experiences and visions about the importance of intergenerational cooperation in today’s business.

The owner and founder of DOK-ING Vjekoslav Majetić welcomed the esteemed visitors and opened the panel, stating: „The most critical stage in a company’s journey is the transition from a trade to a company, from a small company to a medium-sized one, and from a medium-sized company to a large enterprise. This is where we stand today, having undergone an impressive journey – growing from humble beginnings as a startup in a garage to becoming a successful company. Though we may appear small, by all criteria, we are an industry leader in our field. Today, DOK-ING employs 250 people, holds 80% of the world market share in the production of demining machines, and is well-renowned in more than 40 countries worldwide. We are actively developing and creating products by integrating our own innovations and new technologies, ensuring we maintain our leading position as a manufacturer of robotic systems that protect lives, property, and the environment in hazardous conditions.“ Innovator Majetić continued: „I am a visionary and inventor – my vision was to help people in need if people and property could be protected by mechanical means. I think we at DOK-ING have succeeded in that. All our robotic systems are the subject of our own innovation and are the result of continuous in-house development throughout the entire period.

The topic of the panel touched on key aspects of intergenerational synergy, such as leadership and management challenges, as well as the importance of adapting to technologies shaping the future of the business world. DOK-ING’s board member and one of four esteemed panelists, Ante Bakić engaged into the topic with the rest of the industry experts: Danijel Pevec, partner at Alpha Capitalis, Ena Fuzul, co-founder at REARM, and Ivona Bačelić Bumbak, finance and marketing manager at Bačelić. They all presented their experiences when it comes to generational change through a dynamic discussion moderated by Danijela Milić, operations manager at CROMA. The panelists emphasized the need for cooperation between different generations to speed up the transfer of knowledge and experience and enable more effective problem solving and innovation.

Working at DOK-ING reminds me of my university days. I often reflect on those times at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, where we were considered one big family. It was a wonderful environment that made everyone feel comfortable and supported. After continuing my career here at DOK-ING, I felt like I was transported back to those good old days, as we truly operate like a close-knit family. As company board members, we are in direct contact with the company’s owner, allowing us to quickly share and exchange visions. This close collaboration ensures a faster decision-making process, which is not only more efficient but also leads to better implementation of ideas. Being part of this type of the company comes with many advantages, but what stands out most to me is the deep emotional connection we all feel toward the company – it’s something that simply can’t be avoided. In such companies, the owner will always prioritize stability over profit, and I believe this is a great approach. This year, DOK-ING officially transitioned from a medium-sized company to a large enterprise, now employing 250 people. We have truly grown.“ – said Ante Bakić, DOK-ING’s Board Member.

This panel highlighted the value of generational synergy and provided valuable insights into the future of entrepreneurship in Croatia in the age of rapid technological progress. After the panel was finished, the participants had the unique opportunity to tour the company’s production line during which they gained a deeper understanding of the company’s pioneering solutions and potential to address a wide range of challenges, from humanitarian demining to emergency response. The event was concluded with a networking gathering, where the discussion on the topics of the panel continued.
