DOK-ING Empowers Ukraine’s Mine Action Efforts at UMAC 2025 in Japan

DOK-ING AT UMAC 2025: SUPPORTING UKRAINE’S PATH TO SAFETY AND RECOVERY

Last week took us all the way to Japan for the UMAC 2025 Conference, where representatives of governments, international organisations, NGOs, technology solutions providers, state and private demining operators from Ukraine gathered to discuss one of today’s most important humanitarian mine action challenges.

Mine action is a topic of immense importance, especially in recent years, as DOK-ING’s decades of expertise continue to make a meaningful influence in Ukraine’s recovery from the devastating impact of landmines, cluster munitions and other ERW.

DOK-ING was represented by Board Member Ante Bakic and Chief Technical Advisor (CTA) Konstantin Darmaniyan. Our team was reinforced by our partner, Director of A3Tech Ukraine, Marat Mints. DOK-ING-A3TEH’s joint stand was visited by many high-level officials, attracting a lot of attention:
🔹Minister of Economy, Environment and Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, Oleksii Sobolev, CFA and his Deputy, Ihor Bezkaravainyi
🔹Ukrainian Ambassador to Japan Yurii Lutovinov
🔹Peter M. Wagner, Director/Head of Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI), EC
🔹Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Grlic-Radman, Croatian Ambassador to Japan Drazen Hrastic
🔹Senior Assistant Director, Governance and Peacebuilding Department, JICA Hiroto Kamiishi
🔹Producer of demining equipment – Nikken Corporation President Makoto Amemiya and his Chief Engineer, Toskiya Kudo

On 23rd October, our CTA Konstantin Darmaniyan also participated in a panel discussion, where he demonstrated the impressive results of DOK-ING’s ongoing work in Ukraine, stressing the importance of localising production as one of the key factors in accelerating the transformation of mine-contaminated areas into safe and productive land.
Here are some key achievements that highlight DOK-ING’s contribution in Ukraine:
✅ 30% of production localised in Ukraine
🤖 68 currently deployed machines operating in the field
👷‍♂️ around 300 mechanical crew members trained
🌍 25+ million m² of land cleared
We continue to lead by example, proving that our mission goes beyond clearing land. We are taking part in a long-term strategy to support Ukraine’s economic recovery, share knowledge, and create a safer future. Thank you to everyone contributing and giving tremendous efforts to help restore the Ukrainian land and build a safer tomorrow for the Ukrainian people
