18 Dec 2025 This Christmas DOK-ING Donates to Support Children Affected by the War in Ukraine
DOK-ING MARKS CHRISTMAS BY SUPPORTING CHILDREN AFFECTED BY THE WAR IN UKRAINE
In cooperation with the association Hrvatska pomaže, DOK-ING made a Christmas donation to support the organization of a stay in Croatia in 2026 for a group of children from Ukraine. The initiative aims to provide a safe environment, professional psychological support, and education on the dangers of explosive ordnance, enabling children affected by war to experience the carefreeness of childhood once again.
The Christmas season reminds us of what truly matters: unity, love, and care for others. While most people spend the holidays in the warmth and safety of their homes, for many children from Ukraine, the feeling of security remains something they long for the most. That is why this year, instead of traditional Christmas gifts, we chose to give something far more valuable: moments of joy, peace of mind, and the feeling of being carefree children once again.
These are children whose lives were fundamentally changed almost four years ago when the war in Ukraine began. Childhood, like once they had, was replaced by worries no child should ever experience: whether it is safe to leave their home, whether all family members will return safely, and whether once safe places are now contaminated with landmines. As a result, their everyday lives, once filled with joy and play, become marked by fear and uncertainty.
The children most severely affected by the war in Ukraine are those who have lost one or both parents, whose parents are defenders, or whose parents are listed as missing. Through one of its key activities, the association Hrvatska pomaže places these children at the center of its efforts. Its mission is simple yet powerful: to provide children with a safe environment, professional support, and an opportunity to once again feel security, refuge, and peace, even for a short time.
Recognizing the importance of this initiative, DOK-ING donated financial resources to enable a group of Ukrainian children affected by war to stay in Croatia during 2026. Throughout their stay, the children will receive professional psychological and educational support from qualified experts, ensuring appropriate care and assistance during the entire program.
To help make their future and return to Ukraine as safe as possible, the program also includes an educational workshop on mine action. Through an age-appropriate and child-friendly approach, children will learn to recognize the dangers of landmines, how to behave safely, and how to respond properly in potentially hazardous situations, thereby helping to prevent the deadly effects of mines. The workshop will be conducted by members of the Ministry of the Interior and held at DOK-ING’s facilities, where children will have the opportunity to see demining machines firsthand, as well as meet mine-detection dogs.
DOK-ING already has a strong presence in Ukraine through its robotic systems for mechanical demining, which actively participate in clearing contaminated areas. With the help of DOK-ING’s robotic machines, more than 25,000,000 square meters of Ukrainian territory have been cleared to date, and over 10,000 explosive devices have been neutralized and destroyed. The company’s positive impact on the local community has been further strengthened through the localization of production, which contributes to economic empowerment, creates new jobs, and ensures faster and more efficient maintenance and servicing of machines in daily use.
Through this initiative, DOK-ING further confirms its long-term commitment to supporting Ukraine, strengthening its role as a reliable partner in recovery, protection, and care for the most vulnerable group—children. We hope that in the near future these children will live in safety and freedom in their own country, and that the moments of security and support provided will help them recover more quickly from the many severe consequences of war.
Sometimes, the greatest gift for a child is the feeling of safety and the opportunity to simply be a child.
