This biennial event stands as a testament to their dedication and ingenuity in the field of robotics, showcasing Croatia’s prowess on a global stage.

The objective of this year’s robotic competition in Abu Dhabi was to design a fully autonomous unmanned ship capable of autonomously retrieving cargo from another vessel in collaboration with drones. Croatia’s remarkable achievement in claiming the top spot underscores our nation’s ascent to the pinnacle of global innovation. The students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (known by its Croatian acronym FER) not only emerged victorious ahead of elite universities but also showcased Croatia’s unwavering commitment to excellence on the world stage. This prestigious award is a resounding affirmation of Croatian brilliance in the global arena.
“The preparation took almost two years, but it showed us how much we can do, and competitions and awards like this are confirmation that everything we develop has its application. Considering that part of the team of the Laboratory for Robotics and Intelligent Control Systems operated the unmanned aerial vehicle, we have now proved that the sky’s the limit!”, stated Ph.D. Stjepan Bogdan from FER of the University of Zagreb.
