Croatian Defense Industry Competitiveness Cluster and the Brazilian SIMDE signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in the security and defence industry.
Rio de Janeiro, April 2, 2025 – The Croatian Defence Industry Competitiveness Cluster (CDICC) and the National Union of Defence Industries (SIMDE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen cooperation, foster innovation, and create new business opportunities for companies. This marks a significant step forward in strengthening bilateral cooperation between Brazil and Croatia in the field of security and defence. Memorandum of Understanding is a platform for future industrial, technological, and educational exchanges which is enabling joint investments and cooperation in research and development segment, and the exchange of best practices in defence and security.
The agreement was signed during the LAAD Defence and Security 2025 exhibition in Rio de Janeiro by Carlos Frederico Queiroz de Aguiar, President of SIMDE, and Gordan Pešić, Vice President of CDICC and Board Member of DOK-ING, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Brazil, H.E. Ranko Vilović.
The Memorandum of Understanding serves as a platform for future industrial, technological, and educational exchanges while also opening possibilities for joint investments between the industries of both countries, collaboration in research and innovation development, and the exchange of best practices in the segment of defence and security.
“The Croatian defence industry has been built on decades of innovation and global partnerships. We see great potential in the agreement with SIMDE for cooperation that benefits both countries and enhances regional and global security,” stated Gordan Pešić, Vice President of CDICC.
Ambassador Vilović emphasized the importance of this initiative, highlighting that the collaboration represents a major step forward in strengthening relations between Brazil and Croatia.
“Both markets are open to mutual cooperation, and members of the Croatian Defence Industry Competitiveness Cluster, such as HS Produkt and DOK-ING, are prime examples of how innovation and global collaboration can enable strategic partnerships,” concluded Vilović.
“Brazil is committed to strengthening strategic partnerships that bring mutual benefits to our industry and our international partners. We look forward to strengthening ties with Croatia and exploring opportunities for joint growth,” concluded Carlos Frederico Queiroz de Aguiar, President of SIMDE.
