WITH THE ENDORSEMENT OF FSB CAREER DAYS, DOK-ING CONTRIBUTES TO FOSTERING INNOVATION AND SUPPORTING EDUCATION TO SHAPE THE FUTURE OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Zagreb, Croatia, 4-9th of November 2024 – DOK-ING participated in the Career Days of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and and Naval Architecture, held from November 4-9, 2024. As a platinum sponsor of the Faculty’s 105th anniversary, DOK-ING once again shared its support for many talented students pursuing careers in engineering.

Among the 37 prominent companies in the Croatian economy that supported this year’s edition of FSB Career Days, DOK-ING’s booth was the most occupied one, gathering the sympathy of over 2,000 students, including 120 high schoolers. At the booth, DOK-ING’s dedicated team of 20 engineers welcomed curious individuals who were keen on learning more about the company, its culture, available student jobs, and internship programs.

Amidst the crowds at the booth, DOK-ING’s presentation, held in one of the largest lecture halls at the Faculty, was also was fully packed. Students were filling the room to capacity, with many impatiently requesting additional seating just to be part of the session. The audience was fully engaged, eagerly absorbing insights into the full development process and learning about the challenges the company overcomes to bring each innovation to life.

During the lecture, I was inspired by these young minds as they eagerly learned about the structure of our R&D department, our development process, our collaboration with external stakeholders, and the challenges we face in product development.

Due to high interest in the company, DOK-ING took part in the“FSB100: Career Speed Dating” mini event, offering a diverse group of candidates the opportunity to engage one-on-one with DOK-ING’s knowledgeable experts in military engineering, counter-terrorism, emergency response, CBRNe, and underground mining, to explore whether a career in these fields is the right fit for them.

The FSB Career Days also served as a warm welcome for the fourth convocation of the Economic Council, the Dean’s advisory body. This inaugural meeting brings together the newly elected leadership for the 2024-2027 period. Among the elected Economic Council members in managerial roles at companies that collaborate with the Faculty on research, development, and professional projects—and that employ FSB alumni—is DOK-ING’s Board Member Ante Bakić.

„Since my college days, I’ve always felt a strong connection to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture. After graduating, I even worked there for 11 years,“ shared DOK-ING Board Member Ante Bakić, as newly elected vice president of the economic council. He added: Over time, I felt a growing desire to try my hand in the business world, which eventually became too strong to ignore. Leaving the university wasn’t easy—it’s a great environment where you feel truly at home. Working at DOK-ING reminds me of my days at FSB. Here, we offer young engineering students the chance to learn and pursue their passion for making a positive impact. I’ve always aimed to maintain close cooperation with the Faculty, and I intend to continue doing so in the future.”

On this occasion, DOK-ING received a certificate of appreciation for its contribution to FSB’s professional practice courses. During the 2023/2024 academic year, DOK-ING welcomed a total of 14 students for internships, establishing itself as a crucial partner of FSB within the industry. DOK-ING remains committed to fostering innovation and supporting education to shape the future of mechanical engineering, while looking forward to new opportunities for collaboration with the Faculty.
