DOK-ING Mining was „Making Innovation Happen in Croatia!” at the EIT Community Hub Panel

DOK-ING MINING WAS AMONG ESTEEMED PANELISTS AT THE EIT COMMUNITY HUB PANEL ON THE TOPIC OF “MAKING INNOVATION HAPPEN IN CROATIA!”

Zagreb, Croatia, March 6th, 2025 – DOK-ING Mining participated in the EIT Community Hub Kick-off panel, “Making Innovation Happen in Croatia!”, organized by EIT Community Croatia in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Education, and Youth (MZOM).

Our relationship with EIT RawMaterials isn’t just history—it’s a thriving partnership. DOK-ING has been involved in underground mining since 2003, but we weren’t aware of EIT and its RawMaterials initiative until a meeting at the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Mining, Geology, and Petroleum Engineering. The faculty introduced us to the opportunities within EIT RawMaterials, including upscaling projects, which led us to apply for support. EIT provides not only funding but also industry networking and support, which is crucial for a Croatian company entering the mining sector—especially since mining isn’t a major industry in Croatia. Their global reach gives us visibility and advocacy in Europe and beyond. That’s why we are proud to be part of this panel, connecting Croatian innovators, businesses, and researchers with Europe’s largest innovation ecosystem,” said Luka Petro, Director of DOK-ING Mining.

Since 2023, DOK-ING has collaborated with EIT, with EIT RawMaterials providing funding, market insights, and access to a collaborative ecosystem to accelerate the commercialization of the company’s state-of-the-art robotic systems that revolutionize the mining sector. Beyond financial support, EIT RawMaterials has also acquired a minority stake in a newly established subsidiary dedicated precisely to the development of advanced technology that the company produces, which introduces safer and more sustainable methods for mining narrow reef ore bodies—the NRE Fleet. This system of remotely operated electric mining equipment is designed for underground spaces ranging from 90 to 170 cm in height, enabling mechanized rock excavation in areas where only humans could previously operate, while setting new industry standards. This marks a considerable breakthrough in DOK-ING’s vision for 21st century mining – safe, sustainable, and appealing to future generations.

Held on March 6, 2025 in Zagreb, Croatia, the event brought together representatives from the Government, the European Parliament, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), as well as leaders from startups, investment firms, academia, and research centers. It provided a unique opportunity to learn how DOK-ING Mining robotic systems are enhancing innovation efficiency within Croatia’s innovation ecosystem.
