06 Apr 2025 Importance of DOK-ING’s Partnership with SSTS for Safer, Mine-Free Ukraine
DOK-ING AND SSTS PARTNERSHIP IS KEY TO DEMINING ACTIVITIES IN UKRAINIAN AREAS CONTAMINATED BY LANDMINES AND OTHER UXO’S.
Zagreb, Croatia, April 4th 2025 – As part of a visit to Croatia, a delegation from the State Special Transport Service (SSTS) of Ukraine visited DOK-ING’s production facility and company headquarters in Zagreb. Here, DOK-ING designs and manufactures mechanized demining machines that are currently deployed across Ukraine and used in demining activities in areas affected by landmines and other EOs.
„For more than three decades, DOK-ING has been manufacturing machines and equipment that are now helping the people of Ukraine clear their land of deadly landmines. As the Croatian company, we’ve been in this situation before, when Croatia had faced the same challenges in the aftermath of the Croatian War for Independence. Landmines once posed a major threat to public safety and also obstructed social and economic development. DOK-ING understands the devastating impact of landmine contamination, and we are proud to have the means to produce such equipment — as well as to have the trust of the State Special Transport Service of Ukraine, who cherish our machines and value our mission of saving human lives and paving the way toward a mine-free world,“ stated Mr. Ferdo Vidić, Head of Production at DOK-ING.
During the tour of the company production facility, Croatian engineers showcased to the representatives of the State Special Transport Service the various types of demining machines — from the smaller machines used to clear anti-personnel mines, such as the MV-2 and MV-4 robotic systems, to the flagship heavy-duty MV-10, which is used to neutralize anti-tank mines. The Ukrainian delegation was also introduced to MVF-5 firefighting & rescue machine, CBRN robotic system, and the latest development— the modular hybrid unmanned ground platform, the MV-8 Komodo.
“DOK-ING has proven itself to be a reliable partner, not only supplying demining machines but also actively improving their models based on experience gained in Ukraine. The company provides crew training and continuous professional development, as well as rapid maintenance services anywhere in the country. Today, we saw the full production cycle, from design to quality control. I’d like to highlight that DOK-ING was the first private company to assist our sappers at the State Special Transport Service with equipment. In the summer of 2024, we received the MV-4 machine as a gift, which will be used to train new crews,” said Colonel Maksym Komisarov, Deputy Head of the Administration.
On this occasion, MR. Konstantin Darmanyian, DOK-ING’s Chief Technical Advisor for Sales, Training & International Business Development emphasized: “DOK-ING was born out of a war-torn country where landmines were — and still remain — a deadly threat. Today, thanks to the national efforts and advanced technologies in Mine Action, including our own, Croatia is on track to be mine-free by the 1st of March, 2026. This gives hope to other countries facing similar threats, with Ukraine being one of them. Over the past three decades, however, the global and regional geopolitical situation has rapidly changed, introducing new threats. As these challenges evolve, so must our long-term strategy. Crisis management and critical infrastructure protection are becoming increasingly vital, and today our portfolio spans many fields. We provide first responders with game-changing capabilities for operations in EO-contested areas, CBRNe operations, crisis response to man-made and natural disasters, and counter-terrorism situations. We are proud to see the interest from the delegation of the State Special Transport Service of Ukraine (SSTS), to whom we presented our newest models in robotics, along with a number of improvements to the existing serially produced robotic systems.”
The indomitable will restore Ukraine!
The State Special Transport Service is the embodiment of stability and indomitability of the Ukrainian spirit. In the conditions of a brutal war unleashed by Russia, the State Special Transport Service is doing everything possible to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of the country’s transport system.
