31 Jan 2025 DOK-ING Attended the Meeting with the Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal
DOK-ING ATTENDED AN IMPORTANT MEETING ON THE RECONSTRUCTION OF UKRAINE AS PART OF THE OFFICIAL VISIT TO CROATIA BY UKRAINIAN PRIME MINISTER DENYS SHMYHAL, ACCOMPANIED BY CROATIAN PRIME MINISTER ANDREJ PLENKOVIĆ.
Zagreb, Croatia, January 29, 2025 – DOK-ING attended an important meeting with more than 30 representatives of Croatian companies working with Ukraine on the reconstruction of Ukraine. The meeting was part of the official visit to Croatia by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Anatoliiovych Shmyhal, accompanied by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, at the National and University Library (NSK), further deepening economic cooperation between the two countries.
On this occasion, Croatian companies with successful business collaborations in Ukraine gathered, with DOK-ING being one of the most supportive since the beginning of the war. They had the opportunity to hear firsthand from Ukrainian Prime Minister Shmyhal about the current situation in Ukraine, their plans for the present, and their vision for post-war reconstruction.
Prime Minister Shmyhal highlighted that the war damages in Ukraine are estimated at around 600 billion euros, a figure expected to double due to the need for reconstructing housing and numerous other destroyed buildings. He called for extensive cooperation and support from the EU and its member states, inviting Croatian companies to collaborate, create jobs, and establish joint ventures in Ukraine, following the example of DOK-ING, which has been involved since the start of the war. He also expressed his gratitude to DOK-ING for providing machinery and other assistance to his war-torn country.
The founder and owner of DOK-ING, Mr. Vjekoslav Majetić, emphasized: “Ukrainians know that Croatia has accepted many of their refugees, for which they are grateful. Our companies will be welcomed there as well, as Ukrainians will need all kinds of help – from building infrastructure, housing, key facilities, and energy plants to demining and rebuilding society. This is precisely why innovation, and the implementation of the most advanced technologies and systems will be crucial to solving this enormous challenge. This is where we, DOK-ING, come in, as we are the leader in the market for unmanned demining systems, possessing both the expertise and the potential for further development. Since the very beginning of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, DOK-ING has delivered a total of 67 robotic demining systems: 20 MV-4 systems and 47 MV-10 systems, with one system being DOK-ING’s own donation. I am proud to say that these systems have cleared over 18.3 million square meters of contaminated land in Ukraine, neutralizing more than 8,300 unexploded remnants of war. Importantly, throughout these operations, there have been no injuries or casualties, either among operators or civilians. Additionally, we have trained over 200 specialists, with training conducted both in Croatia by DOK-ING experts and on-site in Ukraine by mobile DOK-ING teams. We continue to support the Ukrainian people, as exemplified by DOK-ING’s donation in August 2024 of one MV-4 robotic system to the State Transport Special Service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence for training new demining operators. This donation, the only one of its kind from a private company, underscores our continuous commitment to Ukraine’s recovery, economic revival, and the safe return of civilians to war-affected areas. To further strengthen our presence in Ukraine and support its economy, DOK-ING opened a branch office, “DOK-ING Ukraine,” in Kyiv in September 2024. Through this branch, we aim to become a key partner for relevant Ukrainian stakeholders in the demining sector, offering DOK-ING robotic systems for rental or lease to entities engaged in commercial demining activities in Ukraine. Additionally, we have established a strong partnership with the Ukrainian company A3TEH, leading to the partial localization of production for certain components and the assembly of DOK-ING robotic systems in Ukraine. Our long-term goal is to continually increase the localization percentage of production within Ukraine.” He continued: “DOK-ING, under its motto ‘Don’t send a man to do a machine’s job,’ always looks to the future. At DOK-ING, our key value is knowledge, and our primary objective is to innovate, develop new technologies, and always stay ahead. We must harness technology and innovation for development that ensures a better quality of life.”
Croatia, along with companies such as DOK-ING, stands as a friend and a model of how two countries should support each other. Prime Minister Shmyhal expressed his gratitude to Croatian companies, the Prime Minister, the government, and the people of Croatia for their help, understanding, and support, bringing the meeting to a conclusion.
