DOK-ING’S INGENIOUS ROBOTIC SOLUTIONS FOR UNDERGROUND MINING WERE IN THE SPOTLIGHT AT THE MINING INDABA 2025
Cape Town, South Africa, February 9 – 12, 2025 – DOK-ING Mining showcased its ingenious unmanned robotic solutions for underground mining at the Mining Indaba 2025 expo, held from February 9–12 in Cape Town, South Africa, captivating numerous visitors with its cutting-edge innovations.
At Mining Indaba, the premier meeting place for African and global mining leaders, 122 countries were represented, including 335 exhibiting companies, with Croatian DOK-ING Mining attracting significant attention, welcoming numerous visitors to its booth. Over 10,500 key decision makers from across 28 countries had the opportunity to explore the state-of-the-art robotic solutions DOK-ING Mining develops for mining in narrow reef slopes.
Luka Petro, CEO of DOK-ING Mining, emphasized: „We at DOK-ING Mining are proud to see the recognition from mining industry experts from all around the world in our unique innovations that push the boundaries of the efficiency of mining methods. With our high-tech Narrow Reef Equipment (NRE) fleet, our primary goal is to enhance the safety of miners, what we accmolished by mechanizing rock excavation in extremely narrow mining areas – below 170 cm in height . Not only that, but our remotely operated, fully electric mining equipment also excels in mining on inclines of up to 25°. This feature makes the NRE fleet revolutionary for mines like those in South Africa, where narrow veins of chromite, gold and platinum group metals are extracted. The electric drive eliminates noise and impact of exhaust gases in confined spaces and reduces the carbon footprint of the overall exploitation process. With our solutions, we aim to set new standards and prove that mining can be both eco-friendly and technologically advanced. We envision 21st-century mining as synonymous with safety, innovation, and sustainability, and this event provided an excellent opportunity to fulfill our ambitious goals while fully endorsing the event’s theme—Future-proofing African mining, today!“
The company’s technology for the underground mining has been recognized by EIT RawMaterials—Europe’s leading knowledge and innovation community in raw materials—which has supported DOK-ING MINING participation at this event.
Since its inception in 1994, the Investing in African Mining Indaba conference has become a pivotal event for mining professionals, investors, and industry leaders looking to capitalise on the vast opportunities in Africa’s mining sector. With a focus on fostering long-term economic growth and sustainability, the event serves as a premier meeting place for networking, deal-making, and discussions on topics such as technological advancements in mining, sustainable mining practices, and investment opportunities in African mining projects.
